Hi folks,
I have to remove the control surfaces from my K 21 for an upcoming
inspection. Does anyone know what size rivets I will need to reinstall
them? I can’t find the reference in my maintenance manual and the
flight manual is 60 miles away at the gliderport.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Cherry Commercial (aluminum) MSP-32 .125 grip
Aircraft Spruce & Specialty has them

JJ, there's a contradiction there somewhere. The MSPs are monel, not
aluminum.
Thanks, Bob K.
The glider is due for a 3000 hour inspection. Schleicher requires the control surfaces to be checked for mass balance as a part of the inspection program.
Regarding the monel question, did I just order the wrong rivets?

When in doubt, either drive to the airport to get the manual, or email
the factory and dealer for the correct info. RAS is a poor source for
approved data.
If it is a 3k inspection is that not per a factory S/B? if so it may
be on line.
In general drilling out a monel blind with a steel core is less fun
than Alum. YMMV
